It is not possible to pinpoint beliefs common to all Hindus: almost any statement made about Hinduism will be contradicted by the particular beliefs and practice of some Hindu somewhere. Caste, location and time of life will all influence the ways in which Hindus worship; perhaps the most significant distinguishing feature is the god or goddess most central to that person's devotions. Hindus celebrate often, births of gods; anniversaries of deaths, victories, marriages; new years, new months, new moons, harvests, birthdays, initiations. Most events are reason for music, dance, and processions.
