Oxfam Charity Shops offer a range of fairly traded goods alongside their sale of good quality second-hand goods.

The Pontypridd shop is looking for volunteers. If you can spare four hours working on the till or in the back room sorting clothes? Then call the shop on 012443 407989. Thank you.

Oxfam strives to purchase goods and services which are produced and delivered under conditions which do not involve abuse or exploitation, and which have the least negative impact on the environment. These principles form the basis of Oxfam’s Ethical Purchasing policy. The globalisation of trade means that many of the goods on sale in the UK have been produced by people who experience dangerous or discriminatory working conditions.

In April 2002, Oxfam launched a global campaign to Make Trade Fair. Millions of people are unable to work their way out of poverty because of the unfair rules of international trade. Oxfam is calling on governments, institutions, and multinational companies to change the rules so that trade can become part of the solution to poverty, instead of being part of the problem.
