Valleys Faith Forum
Supporting the Faith Communities of the South Wales Valleys
In 2006, the Chaplaincy of the then University of Glamorgan (now the University of South Wales) was successful in gaining CDF funding for a project to gather information about faith communities in the Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr areas. This is part of its commitment to serve the needs of the University community and develop relationships with faith groups in the wider community.
As part of this work the Chaplaincy instigated the setting up of a Valleys Faith Forum. Invitations were sent to many people of different faiths living in these areas. After two general meetings an interim steering group was set up to prepare a Constitution and consider a programme of events.
The Valleys Faith Forum was formerly constituted in March 2007. The Forum is facilitated and organised through a Steering Group representative of different faiths. A copy of the Constitution can be read here.
The Valleys Faith Forum has its own Blog
with up to date information about VFF meetings, social events and invitations to future scheduled meetings. If you would like to comment on the work of the Valleys Faith Forum or raise issues for discussion you are welcome to do so using the blog.
